PGG WRIGHTSON GRAIN SILO INSTALLATION, MOUNT STEWART

This silo replaces a silo that was blown over in a high wind. Specification of the silo had to be to NZ seismic regulations and also to 145kph wind loading. 120tph unload system fitted zero entry into silo. All equipment supplied by GSI. PMR carried out the erection of the silo and installed the handling equipment.

FEED CO

Feed Co approached PMR in early March 2014 with a request for a new grain intake system. The new grain intake had to meet the MPI requirements for the importation of grains grown and supplied from overseas. We had a completion date of 15th September to have all this up and running. Yes we did it on time and within Budget.

PMR designed, supplied and installed all the equipment required. All equipment at 120tph.

JASON RYAN

For Jason Ryan PMR have installed a 21’ 7 ring 150T bulk storage silo with a steel auger to feed grain to a Wakely 5TPH roller mill, the milled product is then carried into the 9’ 4 ring 16T meal silo via another steel auger. From the meal silo we have installed 90mm Flex Flow to carry the milled product through to the feed point which is where it drops into the fully welded stainless steel feed troughs.

We have also installed for Jason one of our air operated electrically controlled molasses feeding systems.

GEOFF BAKER

PMR Grain Systems have installed a feed system to suit Geoff Baker's new 40 a side Herringbone milking parlour.

A GSI 21’ 6 ring 150T silo over a concrete cone installed for bulk storage. From the bulk silo there is a 5” steel auger carrying the grain to a Wakely 2TPH roller mill which in turn has a 6” steel auger to carry the milled grain to the top of a 12’ 5 ring Meal/Palm Kernel silo. This silo is capable of storing approx 36T of palm Kernel and is equipped with our Flow Hammer to keep the product flowing.

From the meal silo we have two runs of 75mm Flex Flow auger carrying the meal to each side of the Herringbone shed with our AP Drop Feeders positioned above the stainless troughs ready to dispense the meal at the pull of a handle from in the pit.

There were issues with the weather as the job was done during the winter months making it challenging battling with wind and rain. PMR Grain Systems worked in with the builders to get the jobs completed on time and to the customers budgets and specifications.

FRASER TASKER

PMR Grain Systems have installed a 200T bulk storage silo over a concrete cone, From this silo there is a 5” steel auger feeding a Wakely 5TPH roller mill which in turn has a 6” steel auger depositing the milled grain into the 5T meal silo. The meal is then fed into the shed via a 90mm Flex Flow auger and drops into our fully welded stainless steel feed troughs.

Fraser also has installed a complete Palm Kernel feeding system which consists of a 12’ 5ring silo with a 60 deg cone and our Flow Hammer for keeping the product moving.

Molasses has also been installed which is an air operated system using an electronic valve for the metering.

RUDGE FARMS

PMR have recently completed new Perry 18 tph grain dryer with 5% moisture reduction for Rudge Farms located in the Methven Area.

PMR successfully integrated the new dryer into Rudge Farms existing bin system allowing for larger capacity and more scope. The new Perry 18 tph grain dryer will allow Rudge Farms to have the benefits of being able to store their grain long term when dried down to 14% moisture content.

Installing a new Perry 18 tph grain dryer allows a large scale operation like Rudge Farms to be in control of the harvest rather than letting the weather take the control. 

CHAMPION FLOUR MILLS

PMR are pleased to have completed all the refurbishment works for the Champion Flour Mill in Christchurch.

The supply and installation of the following was involved in the project.

  • 5 X 5 meter dia 95 ton Hopper Silos
  • 3 x 4 meter dia 55 ton hopper silos
  • 3 x 7 meter dia 550 ton hopper silos ( 24 meters high)
  • Overhead access walkways & access platforms
  • 11 silo discharging augers
  • 2 x 120 tph elevators
  • 7 x conveyors ranging from 25tph to 120tph
  • Modifications to existing systems

Whilst working on this project we had to work around a functioning  mill and several other contractors.  All works completed on time and within budget.

BROWNRIGG AGRICULTURE

PMR Grain Systems is currently in the process of erecting a 2,500 tone Maize Storage Silo for Brownrigg Agriculture.

Brownrigg Agriculture approached PMR Grain Systems to plan, supply and erect the 2,500 tone Maize Storage Silo which is fitted with a full aeration ventilating floor. This is to give Brownrigg Agriculture extra storage and also to enable a certain amount of crop cooling after the high temperature dryer, thus increasing the dryer capacity.
